Job Description
Our client, a forward-thinking business based in Colchester is currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Estimator to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work for an extremely innovative company specialising in energy efficiency.
The successful candidate will be fully accountable for providing technical advice and support on a range of products.
Key Duties:
- Produce accurate estimates of material and labour costs.
- Prepare and send out accurate proposals and tender documentation.
- Check received quotes for material and labour costs and utilise negotiation skills to achieve the best value.
- Understand estimating processes and use empirical data to work in an organised, accurate and methodical manner.
- Create estimates/quotations to potential customers – ensuring both the customer and business needs are met and the estimate is line with requirements.
- Evaluate bid opportunities and liaise with potential M&E clients, working within project deadlines to produce accurate electrical estimates.
- Produce designs together with ROI calculations and cost estimating sheets.
- Provide support and guidance to project electricians and engineers as and when needed.
- Maintaining strict compliance to quality work, and safety rules.
- Assist the Project Engineer in designing the project once secured.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven BMS experience.
- Ability to analyse project specifications and provide accurate assessments.
- Proficiency in using estimation software and tools.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Have a good understanding of technical M&E drawings.
